Sketchbooks are an important feature of the way in which I work. They are highly personal and contain all my rough ideas, research and general musings. They are the way in which my work develops and I make sense of ideas and inspirations.
You can see on this page how my scribblings and ideas transformed into this miniature tiger sculpture for an exhibition in Malvern last year.
The Sketchbooks are often as full of practical trials of various colour palettes and different techniques as they are ideas.
Sometimes they are used for preparatory drawings for a larger work and can almost be a work in themselves, often very detailed and quite highly finished.
